What's so hard about this fool-proof rule for Caucasians: "Never say the n-word in any context."

i just think in order for it to truly stop in the case of other races saying it, everyone should stop. people follow by example--erroneously, of course--and by seeing certain people say it, other people will follow suit.

I agree, however, in this case, it wasn't the wrong person.
This was an enclosed situation, it was relaxed, casual, and there was nothing but friendship conveyed in the conversations.
So whilst Louis' behaviour can be deemed ignorant, it wasn't meant in a derogatory fashion. That much is clear, there were no racist intentions or even a possibility of offence within the group he was speaking with.
Who cares? it's been normalized in the past few decades by rap music and movies, it may be untactful but in this context it's obviously not malicious or racist.

God forbid there is ONE thing in life caucasians aren't completely privileged to do. The inconvenience of not being able to say one word must be so horrible
