the nerve of some of you people excusing his behavior
"term of endearment" and "he's just a kid" my ass. i would love to see your reaction if someone called you a ******. if this was any other racial slur, you guys would be crucifying him, but since its the n-word, lets make ******** excuses for it. A word used to degrade other humans while beating them and even killing them, but yeah, what a great word for endearment.
I knew there was a reason to hate that rat looking bitch. and seriously, **** anyone who tries to excuse this ignorant/racist behavior in any way, shape or form.
What makes that any better? Hm?
You bitches need to leave Zayn, Liam, Niall & Harold out of this racism **** unless you can show me where they said it in that video (or any other video at that).
The fact of the matter is the word is being used in every race in the younger generation as a term of endearment (not saying everyone uses the word btw). If you want someone to blame, take it up with your rap artist who use it all the time. Don't get mad at me for just stating facts.
You're not stating facts. It's not a term of endearment. Most non-black people use the word in a mocking fashion. They think it's funny.
How about you stop rationalizing his stupid behavior.
"term of endearment".... Go try that **** on the wrong person.
Re: his use of the word, not excusable but all too common among that demographic and clearly no harm was meant. Not everyone has the same firm grip on race relations that, like, I do.
I hope that if this is met with backlash, he/they will learn a lesson.
well its up to the african american community what they want to do with that word, not you..
i just think in order for it to truly stop in the case of other races saying it, everyone should stop. people follow by example--erroneously, of course--and by seeing certain people say it, other people will follow suit.

Agreed. In a perfect world black people could have ownership over the word, but it ain't gonna work like that. People of all races watch BET and strive towards that culture and want to be apart of it or mock it, and then this kind of **** happens. It has to be stopped across the board. Even then it'll be said, but on a much lesser scale imo.
1. there's a big difference between the -er & the -a .
2. I can go to another black person and say it. It was a derogatory term that black turned to something else. I'm sure I couldn't go up to your mother or female friends and call her a bitch but someone that she's familiar with can.
3. If it was a term of endearment Paula Dean would still have a job and there would be no reason for atrl and any news channel to censor the word
****** ****** ****** -- notice how it's censored ?
1. I haven't watch the video yet to know which variation he used. Guessing by your reaction it was -er.
Okay. Watch it.
2. All true. But in the video, he is talking to Louis when he says it. So what exactly is the problem? He is not saying it to a stranger. He is not referring to a black person. He is not being malicious at all.
3. Paula Deen use of the word was used to disrespect. On top of that, her description of having a restaurant with all black servers in black caricature sealed her fate. Paula Deen's intent and Louis intent are two completely different things.
The N-word is the tough subject because the word literally doubles as a term of endearment and a term of insult.
Not this term of endearment **** again, I can't. I'm typing this from Compton, California and I can tell you that at least 80% of the time that word is used it is NOT a "term of endearment." Yes, even amongst black people. Stop.
