In the end, Pitchfork doesn't matter at all. The GP won't buy an album just because Pitchfork said it's great. What they say works as dragging receipts for music forum users but that's it.
They don't even have that much weight on the big awards because we all know these days the biggest awards like Grammys take commercial success into account when it comes to give artists the big prizes.

Robyn kinda had a few hits from
Body Talk. She tried in the US and it never clicked.

And Beyoncé's album definitely was Pop to an extent because it prevailed on Top 40 radio and catered to Pop masses...
