High album sales have their positive and negative effects. The positive is that your album tracks will sell a lot (by album track standards) because people will keep telling each other what their fave songs are on the album, which leads to an increase in the sales of those specific songs. On the other hand, high album sales mean less single success, which means that not a lot of songs can go multi-platinum when a lot of people already own these songs and have owned them for months.
So for an album artist like Taylor, I think 10 multi-platinum tracks is impressive.
