Y'all would rather sit around and box the genre in, than try to have the genre progress and make it bigger and more popular. That's why artists such as Eminem, Macklemore, Kanye, Iggy, and Nicki see much more commercial success, relevancy, and pop culture moments. Who needs a flimsy #1 urban hit with a community who won't praise and applaud the work you've done til years down the road, when you can have pop, rhythmic, hot AC, success.
