This is almost part of the problem with ARTPOP in that it almost sounds uninspired and mechanical in places.
On The Fame/The Fame Monster you could tell the classical songwriting skills were there - crafted melodies and thought-out lyrics. It was probably why they translated so well acoustically.
In comparison, on a lot of ARTPOP tracks (namely Donatella, Aura - no matter how much it slays, and G.U.Y.) it honestly sounds like she just sang loosely over a pre-meditated beat. It makes the thing sound inauthentic from a pop perspective.
