Are you daft? Everyone knew an album was coming, from the producers who were constantly talking about her, to the 3,000 videos she was shooting across the damn world, to the new music she released, yet never actually did anything with.



The album was supposed to come out around the Super Bowl 2013, but was obviously scrapped for the Visual Album idea. Which is why Grown Woman and SOTS were paid dust. You can talk about hype all you want, but saying there was no hype for this Beyonce album we all knew was eventually going to be released in the coming months is just idiotic.

I don't know what happened with ARTPOP during production. Like the instrumentals are great, and the few leaked vocal stems are great, but the mixing or production made the songs mediocre. Still bop to them though.

she kept constantly leaking tracks like Bow down and grown woman while delaying the album release. It was delayed for almost a year actually, she was teasing with new material all through the year, keeping people on their toes meanwhile by pepsi deals and inauguration and superbowl and dropped a self titled album which was more an ode to her husbands genitals but whatever.
