Lol you are really trying it with this nonsense, aren't you? Learn how sales worked back then, no album debuted at #1 and albums sold over time. Certifications are based on shipments. Stores have to order copies for there to be certifications and if the album isn't selling they won't order any copies. And in the 90s albums were absolutely doing way more than half of what pre-Soundscan albums sold

There are plenty of albums that went Diamond in the 90s and in the late 90s album sales were at their all time high.
