Honey did well on radio. It wasn't a massive Pop hit, it was more Urban, especially with the remix featuring Bad Boy. It did still go Top 10 on pop, so it had crossover appeal. It's the pits and no one even remembers it.

Nobody in GP knows Beatles 20 #1's, nobody in GP knows all Whitney's 12 #1's, nobody in GP knows all Madonna's 13 #1's.

It happens to any artist with a bunch of #1 singles. Few will be remembered at most always.

Like if you think Mariah had 'chart advantages'.

They got 20 #1's in like 5 years. They even got 6 #1's in 1 year. This means they released 10+ singles a year, and they would ALWAYS release double singles to do better.

+ the Hot 100 formula in the 60's was something inaccurate as hell. I doubt it even had the sales + airplay format. I think it measured most played songs from Jukeboxes or something crazy irrelevant.

Heartbreaker is the best song of all time.

Emancipation is overrated. People just praise that album because it was a very successful comeback, otherwise the album itself is meh.

But yes, Moo's #1s are completely forgotten with the exception of...um, help me out here.

Lol a lot of those songs weren't even #1's. The Best Beatles songs were the ones that didn't go #1

lol, even if the Hot 100 formula in the 60s was a mess it makes no difference b/c the Beatles sold an absolutely insane amount of albums.

Which they completely used to their charting advantage.

One week they had the entire Top 5 on Hot 100. There's no way you should have 5 singles at once. They had that huge following setting them all up the charts.

The Beatles were pretty much the biggest cultural phenomenon of all time in the 60s though. They were dominating like no artist has dominated since, it was actually common for artists to have multiple singles out at one time and release multiple albums in a year back then. The entertainment industries in general (including the film industry) had a much faster turnover and higher output than today.

See, I'm not trying to downplay the biggest artists of all-time AT ALL but album sales before Nielsen were so inflated.

Like looking @ this list and seeing 95% of the Top 100 being before Nielsen in 1991 yet once Nielsen became in use albums weren't selling anywhere near that makes me realize the inflation was amazingly unreal.

The only reason I know Beatle songs is due to that American idol episode and with that maybe like 5.....

Growing up with r&b you kind of miss out on the Beatles and other bands like them that I personally think are very overatted...
