Lady Gaga had the biggest climb in the pop world since Britney Spears and The Spice Girls, that’s why there’s so much attention on Artpop and its singles not doing as well as expected. No artist has a consistent career in terms of sales and chart performance, but there’s no denying Gaga has lost a lot of momentum and popularity over the last three years, she’s dropped from a big height in a short amount of time, that’s got to be worrying for both her and her people. Take the UK for example. Artpop hasn’t even sold in six months what Born This Way sold in one week, sorry but that’s poor even in todays climate. Every single she’s released from Judas onwards has either only done OK or has either underperformed or flopped in the UK, she hasn’t even had a #1 single since 2010, that’s not exactly great for someone who was the biggest pop star in the world only four short years ago. Applause was on sale nearly a full week but still debuted two places lower and with half the sales of Born This Way, a single which had only been on sale for about a day and a half when it debuted at #3.
The thing with Gaga is she’s let her image and persona overshadow the music and it’s become extremely old and extremely boring very, very quickly. The music on Artpop is commercial pop music, Do What You Want, Applause and G.UY. would have been huge had they been released during The Fame/Fame Monster era, but people are sick of all the theatrics and all the other bullsh!t that comes with Gaga and in turn this has affected her sales. At least with Madonna and Kylie they don’t throw all kinds of crap to the wall in the hope that something, anything, will stick. I’m not saying they haven’t had the odd era where things have been a bit muddled (Hard Candy, Kiss Me Once) but they reinvent themselves by having a look and a sound that is visible in their image, the music, the music videos, the tour, etc. for the year or however long a specific era lasts and then they move on. Gaga is all over the place and just seems lost, out of ideas and out of her depth. She has a lot of work ahead of her if she wants to win back the general public who supported her when she first came out.
Pink’s third album, Try This, didn’t do that well when compared to Missundaztood but Pink managed to make a big comeback with her fourth album (I'm Not Dead) because not only did it yield solid singles but she also doesn’t have an image that divides so many people like Gaga’s does. The music has always been #1 for Pink, she doesn’t need gimmicks whereas Gaga has always been about the gimmicks from the get go, it was inevitable that this was going to be become stale and boring. She needs to disappear for a while after her current tour and overhaul the whole Lady Gaga thing and just get back to what’s important, she also needs to stop believing her own hype and thinking that she’s some kind of messiah who’s been brought to earth to save bullied kids and gay people. Britney, Kylie and Madonna have fun and generally don’t take themselves too seriously, it's pop music at the end of the day, Gaga really needs to unclench and stop being so pretentious. And don't even get me started on her "Little Monsters"...

I mean considering it was still consistently topping the weekly ratings just two years ago.
It is still the biggest ratings success in US television history overall.

Number Ones (On The Dance Club Songs) as Haliennet calls it is her best post-2001 album and her best album overall

Janet is virtually unknown in Latin America. You won't even hear her on 80s stations.

ARTPOP would have been fine if the Inez + Vinoodh shoot was the blueprint for the album's imagery.

In Brazil, the song became a successful international theme for the soundtrack of the telenovela "Brega Chique" (Tacky and Chic) from Globo TV in 1987.

Who are we bandwagoning for the WC, my lorde?
I was thinking Germany (the Ozil factor) but i think Chile/France could do some damage as underdogs.
Can't wait for Jacky to be the Player of the Tournament, leading England to the Semis
