Just see Gaga being #171 on Billboard with 2.000 and Adele #81 with 2000 more copies only and then someone else #42 with only 1.000 more copies...Even with the easter discount she managed to sell 3.500 so itunes dont mean a lot right now..such a sad situation for music industry.

To show how little iTunes counts, when Mariah's new album went out for preorder, it was #7 on the albums thread, the 3 singles which were released were automatic downloads for anyone who hadn't purchased the songs (similar to dwuw, dope and venus) the songs were all in the 300 mark on the iTunes singles chart

So top 10 albums ~ top 300 singles

It's such a tiny portion of the album market

ARTPOP is selling approx 8-10 k ww per week, it will see increase in sales once the tour hits Japan/Asia. Also, it's still doing quite good on ww iTunes - top 100 in many countries. Always good to see.

First of all, show me the receipt that the album is at 1.6. Don't come back without it. Second of all, learn to read. Go to the op. READ. There are receipts for every single number figure.

The title is misleading if you want it to be. ARTPOP, as reported by a site belonging to one person (Mediatraffic), sold 1.8 M WW. ARTPOP, as reported by International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, sold 2.3 M WW in 2013.Some people say it's shipments, some people say it's the actual number of copies sold. End of story.

Would you be a dear, though, and show me that they are in fact shipments? I know they are most probably, but is there any actual receipt for that? If not, then it's still unresolved. Some people believe these are actual sales, some believe it's shipments. I'm fine with that. 1.8 M WW is a good number.

By simply using logic, ARTPOP in no way sold 2.3M worldwide, the label had high expectations for it but it underperformed, that's why it's still 1.8M on mediatraffic which is not official but the closest we can get to actual sales.
2.3 - 1.6 = 700k difference

So far it sold 1.8 M WW, it's nowhere near as bad as the haters would like it to be. ARTPOP will sell around 2 M WW around the time when the tour ends in November. And 2 M WW is not bad at all.
