Knee was hotter (hottest pop star ever imo) so her "fall" is more obvious. JT at best was slightly above average so his fall is less obvious. I think its also his new hair style combined with the fat face.
Obv I'm speaking relatively. There has been no other artist with the same consistency in sells + the media coverage. Mariah never mattered enough. Madonna's US sells aren't that impressive post LAV, just very consistent.

First, she has to sell in a large amounts to other populations than WTG - but I've no doubt she will in the future.
i don't think sexuality is a choice but i think many people are limited and never picture themselves outside of the societal norm. if i wasn't open to the idea of being with women i would've never considered that i'm not straight. i just would've thought that i wasn't a relationship type of person, or i wasn't someone who wanted to settle down, or i only wanted FWB relationships and nothing emotional, etc.
i also think that people will subconsciously or purposefully deny all of the signs that they aren't straight. for some it's not a blatant decision to "pretend to be straight" i just think they need a lightbulb moment. but that's just my own personal experience so idk

You're kinda right lol. Her domination is unreal and unmatched. I don't think her celebrity and hit single count is that impressive though.
In terms of impressive commercial success in the US: Taylor > Mariah > Celine > Madonna
All of Taylors albums are like #1 for the years they were released in.
