c'mon is one of the best on warrior and was a certified SMASH. it could've been as big as tik tok but they chose to release it so stupidly soon while she still had all the negativity around her, and it still did semi good hitting number 27, just shows how if it was in a more mellow point it would've been a HIT, like a true HIT. the anthem of 2013

of course there was backlash. it was all over the media and it hugely affected the era. c'mon was a radio smash - yes - showing how good the song was and how much it DESERVED to be a single, but because of the stupid decision to release it at that time it didn't do as well in sales - the media was still posting negative stuff about her, it was a fresh wound in america's heart, her main market, so of course she suffered massively from it.
