I like this song but it sounds very pop. What happened to the Stripped down album?

I like the song but I am really afraid of how the album will sound like.
What happened to the lyrical value? Magic is mediocre and this song is very repetitive.
Midnight is the only song so far that I really really like. Please don't be a disappointment.
Avicii produced this right? It sounds so generic. Coldplay what the hell. Please. I was alright with Mylo Xyloto but this is definitely something out of the way.
We need REAL instruments. I am a HUGE fan but I can't really fathom the fact that they have drowned themselves into sounding SO poppish. Can say I'm really disappointed. The song is good but I was definitely looking for something else.
Not my favorite Coldplay song ever or anything, but if nothing else, it sounds much better to me on the first listen than the song I immediately compared it to, "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall".
Definitely part of the camp that prefers "Midnight", though.

The real one is much better and the fake one doesn't even fit the graphics of this era
