It's harder to get people to watch a 30 minute film for songs they don't know than a 4 minute video for a song that has radio payola.

Justin and Pharrell lost their cool factor with age and don't know when to quit. Justin will be fine (he's a GP darling unfortunately) but this is what happens when you buy into your own hype. Both seem to be incapable of making good and innovative music now which is a true pity.

Usher is no longer successful outside of urban radio but his peak was massive so it doesn't really matter.

For starters everyone copied FS/LS sound which he partly with Timbaland was responsible for, Rihanna, Madonna, Britney and etc. That era alone made more impact than Ushers entire existence.
