TD was re-released in 2012 , and Katy is currently having a more successful era, of course it's charting.
And the fact Gaga devoted an album to gays didn't help her at all !! That's the reason ARTPOP is suffering now.
BTW outsold TD even according to Media Traffic.

The fact we didn't have a legit report says all.Gaga thinks she sold 2.3M ww with Artpop so let them believe Born this way sold 10M copies and was certified diamond by Little Monsters industry..

Are you being serious right now?!!
Nobody said BTW sold 10M copies, in the OP I clearly said 6.8M copies !
Why are you even brining ARTPOP into this. Shows how big of a hater you are. And 2.3M copies were shipped in 2013 ! If Universal & Interscope, her labels said "sold 2.3M" why the **** can't she say that?

Born This Way was certificated Platinum in August 2011, 3 months after the album was released. Additional 800,000 copies sold from August 2011 - until now.
MX was certificated 3x Platinum in February 2013, 16 months after the album was released. There is no way it sold even 100,000 copies between Feb 2013 - May 2014, considering it didn't chart in any European chart.
With these already mentioned numbers :

Born This Way sold 1,450,000 more than MX. The gap in Europe 1,200,000. Hell, let's say 1,400,000 - BTW still wins!

I can do the same thing with even more reliable sources :
"As of October, worldwide sales had surpassed 8 million copies."
http://www.billboard.com/articles/ne...er-of-the-year
" The success of the album naturally paved the way for her second studio album, Born This Way, which has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide since its May release."
http://www.ibtimes.com/lady-gaga-bio...-photos-321470
And many, many more.
Coldplay's Mylo Xyoloto :
US : 1,700,000
UK : 1,384,100
Germany : 300,000
France : 300,000
Canada : 240,000
Australia : 140,000
Gaga's Born This Way
US : 2,320,000 (620,000 more than Coldplay)
UK : 970,000 (400,000 less than Coldplay)
Germany : 200,000 (100,000 less than Coldplay)
France : 200,000 (100,000 less than Coldplay)
Canada : 320,000 (80,000 more than Coldplay)
Australia : 140,000 (same as Coldplay)
Based on just those 6 countries :
Born This Way : 4,150,000
Mylo Xyloto : 4,064,000
See, I didn't even post Japan where Born This Way sold over 800,000 copies, while Mylo Xyloto isn't even Gold (100,000).
Of course BTW sold more!
|
this is so funny! its actually a compliment for coldplay because you guys are comparing coldplay's "flop" album with gaga's most successful (or 2nd most successful) album. and the sales of both albums are not far from each other. and they been best sellers for 15 years! kings!!

The last source was at 7.2 million, okay. Y'all will seethe and stay pressed at the fact that it sold more than TD with it's 512 #1 singles.
Slay Gaga.

There was no reason for that kind of a joke. I can say Rihanna's Navy believes TTT sold 224 million copies. Than you quote me and say "What. Nobody said that", and than I can reply with "It was a joke. The drama of Navy "

That TD number is from 2010, 2011 & 2012 combined.
BTW numbers is only from 2011. In January & February of 2012, BTW sold additional 400,000 copies which brings it total to 5.8M, I repeat - only in the first 2 months of 2012. It has for sure sold at least 200,000 more copies in the remaining 10 months of 2012, easily over 6M copies.
And of course, MediaTraffic doesn't count sales from every country in the world - just around 20 countries and some of the numbers are estimates so I don't see how BTW couldn't sell 6.8M copies.

Lmao is this supposed to help your case? Because all it's doing is proving how reliable their charts are. Albums barely sell anything outside of the top TEN music markets and it tracks 30+ countries and uses IFPI data to estimate the other countries. But sure, go ahead and believe record labels who said Thriller sold 110 million copies when it actually sold less than half of that.

but how are they reliable?
I can create a website and make up numbers and just say they are correct ! It's not an official website !!
And Thriller DID sell more than 100,000,000 copies!
It sold 30,000,000 copies in the US. You really think Michael Jackson wasn't able to sell 70,000,000 in the rest of the world?
