Selena and Demi were/are too associated with Disney, while Ariana appeared as a new fresh act without obvious ties to Nickelodeon.

The only thing that would save Demi and Selena from this continual downward spiral would be a Bangerz-esque era. Re-inventing their image, creating more radio-friendly music and experimenting in a different genre, and grabbing some headlines.

This would be next to impossible for Demi because she's already done the rehab thing and can't bounce back from that now. She is synonymous with being a former Disney star and her personal struggles. There's nothing about her and the music that draws the general public in.

Selena took a directionless turn with Stars Dance. So she wanted to show a teeny bit more skin and dance more? OK. "Come & Get It" and "Slow Down" did well, but she will suffer if she doesn't mature her music to level up to where her fans are now. But hey, she's collecting headlines these days with Bieber and the Jenners. I expect she's dropping something sooner than later.

Ari is just a star. It came naturally for her.

Selena might not have the best voice but I feel she has a lot of potential. Come & Get It was a great song. She just needs to not make rehashes of other people's music like she did on Stars Dance... that was watered-down Rihanna central. I like Demi (not as much as I used to a few years back tho) but I just don't see it for her as a major star

Demi lovato and selena gomez were not taken seriously as real artist until about 2011/2012
that plus being on a terrible label, one that would only promote their girl thought a telvision channel and concerts. Miley is so notable for being the only one to break way from that on her own.

Arianna grande was introduced to the world through music. She was on victorious( but when you say that show your gonna think victoria justice, before her) Any one 8 -20 will recognize her from tv but the rest of the world know her from her bops on the radio. She didnt have to transition that why she is doing so well

Some of you... Do you understand that labels aren't the ones who books promotion? You can't blame Hollywood Records, like seriously. By the way, Ariana's promotion was not major, only iHeartRadio Music Awards and RDMA's (kind of) were major. White Party performance wasn't even televised. So shush.

And I don't remember when Selena and Demi scored 440K in their first weeks?

Ariana performed at the RDMAs which were rated higher than last year's MTV Movie Awards as well as the iHeart Radio Awards. Combined, she promoted her single to approximitely three times as many people during her debut week on awards shows alone. This doesn't even count Ellen, so please don't pretend like this is a fair comparison at all.

That goes to show they're just looking for someone to blame. For the most part HWR pretty much gives them the go ahead on singles. Your team books the promo a team the artist hires!

Skyscraper was released on iTunes and then the music video was released 2 days later yet it still failed to match Problem's debut numbers and failed to peak in the top 5 despite receiving a music video in the 1st week of release and interviews fresh off her rehab stint (which was heavily hyped).
