Iggy will never be respected as a genuine Hip Hop artist because the fact is she lacks authenticity and thats not something you can acquire. Luckily for her Pop fans dont really care about such things.

I think a lot of black people in Hip Hop will grow to resent her success and see it as white privilige.

People here love Iggy's songs (all of them were top 20) but even though they've been successful there's barely a "new star" HYPE around her. It's hard to put into words. Maybe if I hadn't been a fan since 2011 I'd notice if there was a new artist buzz around her.
