This thread is all kinds of mess. The song hasn't even started yet and yet people are saying it's too late for promo. Honestly. Some of you Kats wonder why people drag you for only caring about the charts, it seems that that's exactly the case, expecting this to be Top 10 by now, calling it a flop for not hitting #1 on iTunes, etc. It's just embarrassing.
Birthday is an important single, just give it time.
Sis it has started and you cannot deny that! And if it's not going to pick up in iTunes in a week then radio will drop it gradually!!! If it's gaining 1 million every day then it's okay, but it's gaining 2-3 million now and I'm worried already!
Radio doesn't always work like that, though. We've seen airplay-fueled hits with mediocre/poor sales. People tend to think that radio will throw a song away if they aren't in the top ten on iTunes. Love Somebody went all the way to #2 on pop and overall radio while being only in the 20s-30s on iTunes. It all depends on listener feedback.

There is not a single katycat worried about Birthday's situation. I mean, true katycats. The negativity comes from outside the fanbase and fake stans (e.g. Prince High, see SYG http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.ph...5986&page=4097).
It's too early to worry about Birthday. Some songs are not as catchy as others at first, so give it some time lord!
