Honey, that's not the point trying to be made. People are trying to discredit her as being African American and/or black, when she IS. She is mixed with other PARTS and heritages, just like damn near half the planet. But she is not mixed raced.

What is there to discredit? Black people come in all shades and colors. Different hair textures and eye colors. She is mixed and looks the way she does because of it. Nothing really to even discuss.

You have to understand race is a social construct. Everyone in the world doesn't see it the same. So some people see someone like Beyonce as mixed. Americans are more likely to see her as just black because we still go by the one drop rule. People's race can change depending on the country they're in. To say Beyonce is mixed or to say she's black is not wrong because she is as are the majority Black slave descendents in North & South America.

Africans and African Immigrants are usually 100% Black if they come from West Africa. Any other region is debate bale

However what matters is how a person sees them self. She is a proud black woman and no one can take that from her.

People just got soooo used to seeing Beyonce on the covers of magazines that its difficult to truly value the importance of her as a black artist being on them. I think one easily tends to take this for granted, which is in fact, a bold statement of what Beyonce has already achieved in her career so far if u ask me.

I simply can't at the negative Nancies and their ignorance. Clearly some lack reading & comprehension skills. The writer of the article, just pointed out, the beauty of celebrating the spectrum of of black beauty . Black people, come in different skin tones(from the lightest to the darkest), with different hair textures and facial features.

This pretty much sums it up. Everyone is expected to have their own opinion of how a particular group of persons should look like and it transcends race. Just as how people think a man or woman of any race should to be considered male or female.

You don't have to have a large ass or big breasts to be beautiful, Lupita and Beyonce are both beautiful in their own different ways and lupita is among the few dark skinned women in the industry to be embraced in an industry that is still obsessed with the white blonde beauty standard.
