The opening was great. All those weird shapes that look so creepy and extraterrestrial...and then it turns out it's just a human eye. All those weird noises that sound so creepy and extraterrestrial..and then it turns out it's her practicing how to sound out human words. Kind of what the movie is about -- starts off creepy and alien and then becomes human.
But the best moment was when we see what happens to those guys she traps. It's scary because it's the total unknown. You're not expecting a ghost or a vampire or a killer to pop out. You have no idea what to expect.
But I only stanned for it first b/c of Scarlett
The way they utilized the disfigured guy was so unsettling.
