I really think Vin hit the nail on the head when it came to Lana & Gags though. Lana has a rich father and will always be taken care of, she doesn't care about success. She just does her own thing which makes her more authentic. Gags on the other hand will stop at nothing for success, and that leaks into her music, which ends up as trash
