I've seen every show that Taylor's played at Gillette and the pouring rain show is just--nothing will ever top it. I really don't think anything ever could.
As far as the question goes--stadiums are awesome for the atmosphere but they are kind of the pits if you ain't got pit. I didn't even mean to make that awful pun, I'm sorry. But they are SO big that it's so easy to be far away and it kind of takes you out of the concert if you're too far. But just the energy and atmosphere is unmatched.
I've seen Taylor six times but five times were at Gillette so I haven't really seen Taylor in an arena to be honest. But I imagine that it's a bit more of an intimate experience. I did see her at the Comcast Center in 08 when she was opening for Rascal Flatts but that's like indoor/outdoor and I had lawn so it didn't really give me the best feel of what a smaller show would be like.
I say if you can try and go to an arena and a stadium and get the best of both worlds
