The whole situation with Beyonce getting Frozen'd reminds me of how much you have to rely on your talent, not just thinking you can sell anything any time, using your cheap gimmicks.

Taylor and Pink released the year before and sold 6 million. Don't act like album sales dropped that much in a year.
Even Britney has been Spears is a better writer than Beyonce.
Brit simply isn't good at writing catchy/pop hooks but a better writer than a lot of this "writer" girls.
