Of who? Lana? I'm not a "stan." But I am less harsh on her than I once was and respect and believe her artistry now, as opposed to Lady Gaga, who I don't respect as an artist -- I find her artistry pretentious, shallow, and disingenuous -- there's no honesty in her art. It's not believable.
In Lady Gaga's defense, Lana Del Rey has a rich daddy, so Del Rey really doesn't care if she succeeds or fails because daddy will always take care of her -- she doesn't have the FEAR to succeed so she can eat, which arguably makes her music "better," because it's more uninhibited, unlike Lady Gaga, who desperately cares about the charts and the public's perception of her, which leaks into her music, making her albums try-hard and nonsensical in a failed effort to be "interesting."
That being said, Lana Del Rey's lack of FEAR may very well be her greatest
weakness, though. It could possibly stunt her growth in terms of artistry or sonic progression.
