With me, I never rush music. I'm fine with songs taking 5 years to grow on me and that happens all the time. I only fell in love with That's Why You're Beautiful in 2012 and Love On Top became my fave after about 6 months of release. Idk, with me it's just random. I don't have to love everything at first.

BEYONCE and B'Day are the only albums where I loved 90% of it at first.

For some reason I always judge intention before I judge the sound, so most songs I hate/love from first listen. It's only when something sounds really "off" that I need more time to get into it (Video Phone, RTW).

Yup! What's funny is we never saw how innovative Video Phone was back then but it paved the way for a different kind of hip hop influenced rnb. One slightly similar to trap. If Video Phone were released today, it'd be a smash. RTW is just bad. Period. Memorable and iconic but bad regardless.
