Let's not forget the public thought she was weird as **** that whole era. Literally only her huge fanbase was keeping that era afloat.

"The Edge of Glory" peaked (at #3) it's first week.
"Judas" peaked (at #10) it's first week.
"You And I" peaked (at #6) it's fifth week. (4th if you take away the week it charted when album was released).
"Marry the Night" peaked (at #29) it's fifth week.
There was absolutely no longevity / public support that era, from it doing half it's sales first week and peaking with every single first week. It was just the fanbase even then.
