One of them is rumoured to be All By Myself (often associated with Céline Dion), which was recently registered on her BMI page.

'All By Myself' was registered on some website , so I think that's on lock. And I think the other might have something to do with Michael Jackson, although I'm hoping for something for Whitney as well.

^ I've seen that pic so many times and never cared enough to look at the framed photo to see it was MJ. It would be interesting if she covered him. I'd like her to cover Keep The Faith, with a gospel choir (she did post a pic with a gospel choir the other day ). I was thinking about it the other day. It'll give me Make It Happen teas.
Our impact, I guess.  |

Someone exposed this song ha basic repetitive production some weeks ago tho. Only Mariah's smooth voice could perform such miracles.

Kinda a long-read but please do:
Although Charmbracelet is often slated by fans and critics, Through The Rain is actually my favourite Mariah song of all time.

Mainly because of the personal meaning to me. That song means more to me personally than any other song that I've ever heard. When I was little I was very close to my grandfather, and he bought me an extraordinary amount of music. Still to this day, I think that my interest and obsession with music stems from how much music I experienced when around him. I still have literally hundreds of CD's that he bought me over the years, most of which I never listen to but I can't seem to part with them.

He bought me the Charmbracelet CD, and when I used to play it he loved Through The Rain, and that song always stuck out the most and reminded me of him.
He passed away when I was 7, and at the time a lady said to me do I have a song that reminds me of him, and I said yes it is Through the Rain by Mariah Carey, and she said that whenever I miss him I should listen to the song, and I will feel close to him and know that he's watching over me. I know she only said it to me to try and comfort me as a child, but still to this day - 11 years later I carry that with me and every time I play that song I feel 6 years old again and like I'm with my grandad. It's sort of fitting that the song is about getting through inner struggles and finding strength within yourself.

If one day by some turn of events I happened to meet Mariah Carey, I would thank her for giving me a song that makes me feel like I never truly lost my grandfather.

It's so fun readinghow Céline Dion fans perceive Mariah .

		| I agree a lot with this post. I was a HUUUUUGE Mariah fan up until "Rainbow" that was the last album I loved consecutively from her. "Glitter" and "Charmbracelet" were flatlines to me (and I feel like she ruined one of my favorite Def Leppard songs on the latter). "The Emancipation of Mimi" was a HUGE comeback for her and it was a pretty damn good album. I looooved it. Saw the tour too and she was spot on. Pretty amazing. "E=MC2" was a crappy follow up. I was disappointed as I was hoping she would stay on track. "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" was in my opinion a little underrated. I liked the production value of the album. Everything after that has pretty much been crap. I enjoyed "Almost Home" from the OZ movie, and "#Beautiful" but definitely nowhere near as much as I enjoyed her earlier work. Her demeanor may have a lot to do with it too. I feel like she comes off so trashy based on the way she presents herself. I never think she looks good anymore. Her hair for some reason skeeves me out. And just the way she acts. She acts dumb...like an idiot almost. "DAAAHLING." Puh-leez!!! Like a high school girl she comes off as mentally, where as in earlier years she came off like a lady. She was a cute, America's Sweetheart, Girl next door type. Now with the tit implants, and the gross hair, and even her make up along with her overall attitude (not saying it's a bad attitude) I'm just turned off. |

		| mariahs version of open arms blows celines out-of-the-park - its perfect - i remember buying that single with the most gorgeous white cover when i was like 12 and loving it SO much....its still one of my faves by her. i dont even care to own celines version
if celine had done this song back in 96, she would have done it as good as mariah.

		| Mariah Carey's version of ''Open Arms'' is atrocious. She ruined this song with her annoying squeaky/airy voice and her overuse of melisma. Not to mention that all the awful and unnecessary ''yeah, yeah, yeah'' she's continually adding through the entire song are horrible and spoil the song.
IMO, Celine's version of ''Open Arms'' is a trillion times better. She kept things simple and yet her delivery is superior to Mariah's.

		| I do find it a bit odd for Mariah to take on one of Celine's biggest vocal songs. Undoubtedly there will be comparisons, but let's be honest here - our girl celine is known for covering songs - it's damn near half her discography including a great deal of her bigger hits. Tpol, iyamt, Abm, tpol, iacbtmn, her latest title track Lmbtl, and a few others... Celine on occasion has brought something different to the table with many of her covers, but a lot of them are pretty bad and karaoke. It opens room for a lot of criticism - rightfully so.
The biggest positive for Mariah is that in her covers she always brings something new to the table. She never just sings the song the way it was sung before. I love celine and she will always be my #1 singer, but as an ARTIST who is involved in the creative process and innovating new things, she undoubtedly pales in comparison to Mariah. I'm willing to hold my judgment of this Abm cover until I hear it because I know whatever Mariah comes up with it will be something new and different from what celine has already done. Like it or not, Mariah is a big diva, a great friend to celine, and amongst fans a rival... I'm excited to hear it, though I must say I'd much rather her have done this 18 years ago back in her prime. I feel like now she won't do it the same justice she would have the.

Oh my god at the Fat nicknames Honestly though, I hope she doesn't end up like Aretha cause I'd prefer her go the Streisand route who's still fabulous at 71!  |
