I don't, I LOVE pop music I know the POP genre is a vast one, I just dont believe Lana is a complete POP star. She is more alternative before she is a pop. But i do get what you are saying.

Maybe, but US is very different (naturally). I'm not convinced it's pop. Pop is fr the masses. Katy perry for example, everyone likes her music because it's pop, it's catchy.

Lana is alternative. Not everyone will like it because of the sound of her music (strings, production) and her unique voice.

In my opinion she is Alternative-Pop but still slightly more Alternative than Pop. But this doesnt stop radios from playing her songs or her from being "for the masses". Just look at BTDs sales, her sound obviously did attract "the masses" even though its different from the "Katy Perry- Pop".

Absolutely not..she belongs more to the alternative rock genre drawing from elements of baroque pop. There are tracks that incorporate trip hop beats mixed with the strings, but the overwhelming majority of her catalogue is derived mainly from the alt rock genre, not to be confused with hard rock.
