You can pretend that you don't have anything against catchy songs but you've proven it here more than once. You just called Y&B a "pedestrian song." I can agree with your point that it is sometimes a risky move to not release a more generic or catchy song as the lead single but I don't think a song should be hyped up simply because it's not as catchy as others.

And as you said, this is a music forum where ppl express their likes and dislikes. And just for the record: I love catchy songs. Summertime Sadness is catchier than Young & Beatiful and it's not pedestrian at all.

I was just going to write this so thank you for doing it for me. I love and stan for Lana but this weird fallacy that she isn't a mainstream pop star is so odd to me. She may not be a Britney or Katy pop star but she's a pop star nonetheless. She makes pop driven music.

I respect the fact that you can like and dislike whatever you want. To me, it just felt like you were simply disregarding some of Lana's songs for the sole fact that they were catchy. That's what I had a problem with.

I'd say the first half of born to die is full of great pop songs and hooks, but the second half is quite dull and bland. It reminds me of Prism in that aspect.

it's very 'a clockwork orange' with those synths, which is nice consider that's what the title implies? I like it. I do however like her 'video games' , 'radio' tone and would've hoped she went in that direction? Nonetheless it's an exciting start and for me personally It would be nice to see her get even more synth heavy/reliant during the album something akin that of the milkbar music in the film itself (a clockwork orange)
