But no one but me has been calling Beenzino King or slay me so who else?? This is quite interesting since I'm the only who usually talks about him and recently about this collab with Junggigo
Also why wouldn't I be excited for a release with him featured on it he is my fave so I'll continue to call him king as much as I wan't despite his plagiarizing incident because it's in the past now.
honestly though hip-hop works SO differently than other genres and I think a lot of people lack context when it comes to that kind of thing - especially the Korean public. It's not uncommon at all for people to release entire mixtapes using other people's beats, it's like a call and response thing.
As far as I can tell, Beenzino's lyrics were all original, and even if the sample was unlicensed it doesn't seem immediately clear to me that the entire beat was "stolen." Even if it was, the two put together made for a better combination than whatever the original was, so...I mean, bite or get bit.
also I never faulted Hyori for her issues. Her versions were better 100% of the time and it seemed to be the fault of dishonest producers (or licensing issues, like "How Did We Get" being a Nicki Minaj song that was also a Jason Derulo song) rather than...her.
So people who get cute about that should stop. Hyori is innocent.
