Britney. Her family was poor as dirt and from the backwoods of louisiana. You know how hard it is to get out of that??

Cheryl, Madonna, J. Lo, Britney pre breakdown. Most major pop stars have worked hard to get where they are though.

Cheryl?
She got put in a girl group through a TV reality competition and got through most of the rounds based on her looks alone.

Miley. Miley has been working her ASS off since a young child living in Nashville. Miley may have had a good upbringing with a dad who was a country singer, but she got to where she is because she never stopped working. Since the age of about 5 she was acting and singing in multiple films and all that. When the time came for Hannah Montana, she almost didn't get the part. They thought she was too young and too short. She had to pack up and fly to LA something like 7 times before they finally decided that she was the right choice for the part. From about 11 Miley worked on Hannah Montana and attended hundreds of shows by the age of 14, doing a concert night after night and day after day. In the Breakout era Miley had to do hundreds of concerts as herself and tons as Hannah as well. She also had to attend events for both of them.
Miley is the epitomy of a hard-working girl.

What a stupid ass way to try and validate your fave.
Everybody's fave has had struggles and worked hard. Maybe if we all realized that, we wouldn't have so many loose ass gorls on here trying to desperately "drag" everything about them.

Katy.
Have y'all seen the Birthday cover? Bitch was working since she was 5 to launch her future 10th #1. She worked for them psychic abilities by working as part of Miss Cleo's customer service team. Followed by going on the road with her minister parents all over the country, where she had no choice but to start performing her Athiest Bubbling Under hits which failed to chart on the Christian Charts due to spreading the word by singing those cheesy "I want to get on my knees and start praising Jesus" type of songs with her illuminati stare that them inexistent charts didn't approve of. After that failed, she left to LA hoping to land a deal but what she didn't realize is that the completion was tough and she was living under a Box eli: and it wasn't as Simple as she thought it be. So even after being dropped countless of times as if she was a Jennifer Lawrance standee, she never gave up, even when she had no money a and struggled to continue to fight for her dreams, she even resorted to hanging out with Perez before IKAG hit the airwaves hoping to catch a bite of Pork Sausage due to starvation...if that's not a risk and working hard to make it and be relevant then I don't know what it is. I missed way more since her story is quite depressing yet inspiring but last but not least let's not forget that she ended up selling her soul to Satan to become successful and finally work her way up to become who she is today. Though she got a deal with the dark one, she still had to continue working for it cuz Satan gave her the .69 cents generic "Make me a Pop Star" booster which is why it explains her legacy so far due to the fact that Madonna, Bey, Rih, Brit and Gaga got the high quality stuff before
Though she did worked hard so I guess Satan gave her a free refill to make up for not realizing it that he had made a mistake by given it to 2 of the pop stars mentioned above ^^^^
Katy worked the hardest and she'll be a harder worker when she'll be asked to put out fire with gasoline in ha afterlife

Shania Twain has experienced so much sh!t Mariah literally went from nothing to Goddess. Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira too, although the beginning of J-Lo's career to some extent was propelled by Tommy Motolla's desire to mess things up for Mimi
Mariah, Beyoncé and Whitney were all guided by their parents/family, but that doesn't mean they didn't work hard. Although, Mariah didn't really get any guidance as far as the industry (unlike Whitney and Beyoncé), her mother kinda mentored her in singing.

Shania Twain, just look up her story. I dare you. But in all honesty we shouldn't be duking it out over who worked the hardest, but rather appreciate how hard all of them worked/work to be where they are right now.

Certainly not Beyonce. She is a hardworker, but her way to the top was incredibly easy.
You simply cant compare the struggling of selfmade artists who came from nothing, who had no support from their humble background, who wrote their own music and became successful only thanks to their talent or determination to privileged kids whose parents were supporting them, paying their bills and had connections in the business what made their way to record deal so much easier. Im not saying that they dont work hard to maintain the success, but their way to the top was easy compared to others. Its like saying that Paris Hilton worked as hard to get her record deal as for example Edith Piaf.

Beyonce really? She pretty much had her career handed to her on a silver platter. She basically just had to play along and let her father work out things for her. Now she's got Jay-Z doing that for her. Talk about independent women. ********.
Madonna is the one who worked harder than anyone in the business. J-Lo, Shakira and Gaga too. Kesha and Katy also had to work really hard to get to where they are. Kelly Clarkson won AI so she's worked hard too. Britney and X-tina kinda had it easy with the Disney thing. Same goes for Miley and Disney stars.
Avril worked really hard to but she was very lucky to get a 2 million contract signed at 15 I don't think that happens often.

She didn't get to where she is now (critical acclaim, high grossing tours, 65 million albums sold, owning her own production company at 32) without sacrificing her childhood and freedom.

Surprised Britney hasn't been mentioned much. She was basically relied upon by her family to make their money. Working hard to get onto MMC helped her family get out of poverty and nowadays they all kind of live off of the money she worked to make.

No she didn't. She had to audition for her record deal, and had been dropped a before getting another one. And what on earth does Jay z have to do with this? He's not her manager neither did he give her a record deal. He's her husband. Like Wtf is the mess.

This thread is stupid, everyone are saying their faves and immediately get drags for it.
Every pop girl works hard, this is a tough business.

Jay Z is not her manager. He does not run her career. How sexist of you to assume that just because she's a female, in a successful relationship, with a successful partner, all her triumphs are his.
They were dropped twice, before eventually signing.
And her father was her manager. In ways that all artists have managers. She wasn't given a career, she earnt it. Her family pooled in all their resources out of necessity. As a young black group, DC were automatically at the bottom of the food chain. They had to tour non stop to even get their names out there, because Columbia didn't really see it for them. Though that worked in their favour. Hell, Kelly even broke her foot whilst they were on tour with Christina Aguilera, because they couldnt get a dressing room with lights. And before they barely even made it, she was singled out, bullied and targeted simply for being the lead. Then after Letoya and Latavia left, she was crucified. They'd attack her character on tv, in magazines, on radio, on stage. Literally boo her and she'd perform through it and breakdown back stage. People were literally rooting for her faliure, so she worked harder and perfected her craft.
