Just listened to half of Birthday.
That song is a new level of terrible from Katy.

XO was just a bad idea. She shoulda gone with Pretty Hurts... but it's a shame cause XO is actually perfection and the best song on the album. It needed PROMOTION and she needed to "care" about how it did. Drunk in Love would've been just as amazing as a US-Only single. The song sold itself, but XO really needed the push that was never given.

But regardless, she got her first #2 hit and it stayed in the top 10 for a good amount of time. Could've been bigger but for one performance, it did amazingly well.

Nothing off of BEYONCE will be a hit. Standing On The Sun was the only song with true hit potential. I think she realized that hence she didn't include it on the album. She's kinda weird. But at least she makes good music unlike Gaga who makes stupid career decisions because she lacks taste, intelligence and an ear for good music & hits.

Funny. People said the same exact thing about IIWAB, Irreplaceable & BTINH yet they ended up being they all ended up being the biggest global hits of the era

Pretty Hurts isn't a bad song. It's a pop song with one of the best and biggest bridges of Beyoncé's entire career. The song is a smash waiting to happen.

Mediatraffic often underestimates numbers since it doesn't track all markets (especially Asia, Eastern-Europe and Latin-America) which means ARTPOP has probably sold more outside of the US.
