Not really. Alejandro's negative effect could have been easily overshadowed if she had released a firework kind of video for Born This Way. But instead she just made it worse and not with just one video, but with the entire era.
The fact that the Born This Way audio video got over 100M views within a few weeks but the music video did it after YEARS says it all...

Do we really need Gaga to top the charts again? All stars come and go. Wouldn't having Gaga do her own thing, popular or not, be best for her? She'd always have enough fans to tour successfully.
IDK I've gotten to the stage where I've come to terms that I can't scream about my fave being #1 to randoms on the internet and can actually just enjoy her for what she is. I mean the song she more or less wrote and produced all by herself, "Venus", is my favourite ARTPOP song. I'm here for her.

Completely agreed. I loved that song but that video scared me. Way too creepy and off putting. Then she just doubled down with horror nonstop (Btw, judas, TEOG, MTN, applause). It completely killed the pretty and quirky girl next door image from TF.
"Bad romance" for me remains that perfect balance of beauty and ugly mixed together. She hasn't replicated that since.

Understand if Gaga never topped the charts ever again, I would attend another 3 sold out Roseland shows and the original ARTRAVE with no second thoughts. I understand and love that woman regardless. However, I love her so much that when people disrespect and downplay her art I get angry and feel the need to defend her.

Nope but some people seem to think so. So who knows. Maybe that's the problem...it's polarizing, while everything before wasn't.

Well, I think so, the video is a pure gem.
'I know that we are young and I know that you may love me,
but I just can't be with you like this anymore... Alejandro.'
Almost as iconic as 'shine bright like a diamond'.

You're talking about the lyrics tho (and probably the melody), that's something completely different...

"Thanks bye?" You're a rude little ****, aren't you? Doesn't change the fact that the question you asked in the radio thread is totally different than the one you referenced in here so very misleading indeed.

I don't understand why this isn't doing better... She's trying so hard, gives all her effort and yet there is no appreciation from the music buying public.

I just looked you are right indeed. Oh H-I-M...he wants Gaga to get dragged in that airplay thread this morning At least keep the dragging in here because I can't take other fanbases getting the satisfaction

I wish she didn't stop working with professional video directors. Photographers and BFFs are not acceptable replacements for a pro that understands how to make her look good and to evoke the right emotions.

I was talking about the video in general. I just mentioned the lyrics as an extra.
For most of you, Bad Romance is probably her best video, cause it has 600M views?
Alejandro is her most artistic video, tbh.

No. Because her image was on point. It has great replay value. The choreography was fierce. Her different looks throughout the video were perfect (monster outfit, natural look, devil red, quirky gold outfit in bridge). The visuals went with the music. The editing was fantastic.
I could care less how many views something has if I like something. But when 600m people are watching, you know there's something there in terms of replay value.

And Vogue. And Human Nature with a splash of Erotica. But sounded like La Isla Bonita. It really felt like a cut and paste Madonna tribute. And not in a good way.
I still bop to the song though. It's amazing.

I though the BTW video was creative, except for the random MJ dance and for the fact that the video had nothing to do with the song.
