That doesn't even make sense. She performed Grown Woman and Bow Down during 2013. Plus, she performed more new songs off the album this year during the 2nd Europe Leg.

Overall, I would say BEYONCÉ is the biggest era so far. The album broke numerous records and is on track to be Bey's most successful album to date. We all know the album outsold PRISM, ARTPOP, & Britney Jean already. Plus, this era is still fresh considering the fact that the album was released less than 4 months ago. Both Drunk In Love & XO were released AFTER the album dropped and still to this day, Drunk In Love receives heavy airplay. Partition is about to be #1 on Urban Radio and is gaining airplay on Pop as well. So, this era is just getting started and if any era has a chance of longevity, it is BEYONCÉ. It is filled with so many potential singles. PRISM is not.

PRISM for me. They are not too far away on album sales WW, and Katy has two monster hits to make up for the difference. Plus, her biggest flop this era is already platinum in the US and the video is about to get the #VEVOcertified, proving her big streaming power. Katy aint playing this time around

It seems like the only defense Katy stans have is the sales of quick hit recycled sound singles, so of course I would expect them to not understand LONGEVITY.

Im pretty sure they understand that concept really well, Teenage Dream charted in in the WW year-end countdowns 3 years in a row and it charted for 174 weeks on Billboard 200.

Roar charted for 34 weeks and is still charting
Dark Horse charted for 28 weeks and is still charting and into the Top 3

As an album, Beyonce. For singles, PRISM.

I feel like Beyonce kind of shades artists who "only care about the singles though" for example, around the 2:00 mark:

I feel like "the singles" comment is so directed towards Rihanna and Katy hahahaha, and "the hype" comment is definitely about Gaga imo.

But yeah, Beyonce as a whole, cohesive album/body of work. But PRISM for individual songs and singles. It's a shame. Beyonce will probably win album of the year, and Katy will be snubbed again, despite the fact that more of Katy's songs will hit #1 and be remembered. I truly feel PRISM is on par to equal her record with Teenage Dream and Bad. She might even break it.

The Grammy's are not about rewarding songs that hit #1 though.

Really? They understand the concept? Hopefully, the success of those singles and that album will help her have a long career in the music industry. But since it seems like she's not reinventing herself and her music is starting to sound the same, I don't think she will last very long. Not 16 years anyways.

10+ years since Beyonce's first solo album or 15 years since Bills Bills Bills. That's a long career and Beyonce still can slay. My fave would probably retire before hitting 15 years since IKAG.

Katy created an template on how to release stuff and use the Internet for the labels with the TD era. Beyonce went beyond that and made a bold statement, she can release it directly to iTunes and uses only the Internet. The labels can start fearing other artists realising that they don't need the middleman doing promo for them or convincing shops to sell the CDs.

Katy has the singles and in the long run a decent amount of albums sold. Beyonce has the album opening week sales and good album sales.

Beyonce's tour is definitely bigger than Katy's CDT (Kept the ticket price deliberately low to convince people to see her and that she can sing.). Prismatic tour receipts can be checked at the end of next year. It depends on how her weakest market (Europe) responds. Europe is crucial for a long career, America will move from one hype to another.

I find it funny how everyone saying Katy ONLY is referring to her single sales.

I find it funny also how everyone saying Katy is saying "in the future" Prism will outsell BEYONCE meanwhile Beyonce is Higher in the US and WW currently. WITHOUT the help of a MAJOR HIT like Dark Horse.

Yall need to give up that Ms.Cleo side job. With 5 #1 singles from TD Katy should've sold WAY more albums that should've shown yall she isn't a big album seller. Her singles have an INCREDIBLY bigger margin of success than her albums. Beyonce doesn't have major hits like her and STILL outsells her.

There is not much memorable about PRISM, or Katy Perry at all to be honest. Katy has consistently had a lot of success with her singles, and she will probably snatch 1 or 2 more #1's this era - but she is not at all memorable. Her success is correlated to the GP's liking of her radio tailored singles. BEYONCE and Beyonce herself are phenomenons because people recognize the artistry and perfoction in every song, music video, and performance. Katy can have her couple #1 singles, but her lackluster impact will be shown when she performs in half full arenas this summer. "SURFBOARD" has already had more impact than Katy's chart topping hits. Partition may or may not creep into the top 10 depending on the promo Bey may or may not give. Part II On The Run (although not apart of BEYONCE) has serious potential depending on a video + promo. Let's not forget about the smashes to come - Blow, Pretty Hurts, and Haunted.
