I mean, he is a country music artist and if one genre of music is local to the US and Canada--but really, mostly the US--that is country. So I don't think he is affected by that, by definition every country artist other than Miley Cyrus' father who had an international hit, is local.
But that was rude anyway, and Jamie was there. If they feel better about country by saying Britney doesn't sing live well then they are not very confident.
