Are you saying you love Who's That Chick or hate Who's That Chick? Because that song was HUGE in Australia. It peaked at #7 and was played in clubs every time I went out for like 6 months. It reminds me of Summer 2010-11 so much. It's probably in my top 5 Rihanna songs.
Using > means 'better than'
So Who's That Chick >
Is 'Who's That Chick slays'
Who's That Chick didn't even exist in the States. I heard it for the first time in 2013
Man Down also got paid dust here but I remember when the video premiered for some reason. I think it caused a tiny bit of controversy
Do you guys think Rih would sound good on a song like this?
Don't get me wrong, the autotune is still really, really bad. David Guetta went overboard and she sounds like a robot. I kind of think that was the effect he was going for. But even still, it's such a good song that I wish we could hear it with her original vocals.
I think so, the song was for a Doritos commercial or something like that.
I just recall my best friend texting me in school that a new Rih video is out and I was like "Only Girl?!" and she told me no and I was so confused like .. sis, that's the new single, did you just discover the mixtape eras or something
First off, UNA isn't cohesive, at least musically. That's its biggest downfall imo.
Rihanna will always be versatile. I don't think she needs to get rid of that. It just all needs to fit together in the end. TTT did a great job of that except for WAWL. However, she needs to figure out how to be versatile without serving us the same pattern over and over again. That isn't cute nor is it acceptable.
Finally, I don't think it's impossible to have great singles+imaging+styling with a cohesive and good album. I'm sorry but LOUD is not praise-worthy and shouldn't be seen as an example for her next era. She needs to progress and serve us musical cohesion or at the very least thematic cohesion. I want to be able to know that she had a vision for the album and executed it. UNA was just about her life during that time period. It's all over the place but it remains a fan-favorite because the songs are okay to amazing and you can tell that she was involved :cofee2:
When you think about Unapologetic was pretty cohesive musically. Track 8-15 all connected: Stay, What Now, LWT, NLA, NB, LIP, HOM
Thats more cohesive than TTT and LOUD thats for sure.
