SM hasn't signed any of the artists from KPOPSTAR because they already had too many trainees and felt responsible for taking care of them before any of the new audition stars.
(which is also the reason why they didn't come back for S3)
Also, if Akmu came to SM they would've done something like this
It's ironically a shame that they chose YG. In the long run JYP probably would have served them better since they'll be locked up in YG and SM's shared dungeon with f(x), 2NE1 (after AoN finishes) and Taeyang after they finish promoting Play.
The whole "Akdong getting YG-fied" criticism is already tired/boring. I have a feeling if 200% was released by an "indie" label (or any of the other big 3), the usual suspects on here would be lapping it up and praising it's uniqueness. PressT
Nope.
As someone who actually listens to other korean genre's like k-indie and k-hiphop I have quite an understanding of what I'm talking about.
I really like AKMU their song was good it isn't bad I like but it's not amazing either. I've heard the same type of song from other korean indie/alternative artist so for me personally it's just alright. There is nothing to be pressed about just because not all of us love the song......

I actually doubt that because Chan Hyuk (the guy) composed and produced all the songs on that album...YG would probably have them write songs for other artists in particular Lee Hi. JYP wouldn't have let them used their own songs. Lets be real...at least one song would have to be produced by him.
and lets not forgot JYP tried to bribe them to come to JYP using Suzy....

During a recent interview with the 'K-Pop Star 2' winners, Akdong Musician's Lee Chan Hyuk let his inner fan boy out when he received a letter and an autographed CD from his ideal type, Suzy. The letter from Suzy read, "I was really glad to meet Akdong Musician. Also, congratulations on your win. Continue to let many people listen to your good songs in the future, and I will show my support for you to become an even bigger musician."
Lee Chan Hyuk shared on 'K-Pop Star 2' experience, "It is really touching and unbelievable at the same time. The fact that we won still still feels surreal."
Fans commented, "I also would like to receive a letter from Suzy," and "Will Suzy's letter convince you to move to JYPE?"

Call me a pessimist, but I'm sure it's because no artist fit SM's image...
Why even sign up for the show in the first place, if they already have too many trainees? That makes 0 sense

SM is not familiar with OST style artists? OK
15& have had some success with him, but again, OK.
Oh well, considering they get the biggest paychecks at YG, it's a pretty wise choice. I just think their style would fit so much better with JYP.

My point being that after Play runs its course I can't see YG bothering to give them another album for a couple of years, if at all. Bear in mind 2NE1 are top tier and he didn't let them release a damn album for 3 years, imagine if Play only shifts 50k copies tops.

Heechul said, "In the case with SM, like I said before, when SM produces dramas, they want to take care of their kids," which might explain why SM tends to cast people signed under their agency. Heechul continued, "Just like that, SM has a sense of duty in which they feel like they need to take responsibility for their [current] trainees." SM viewed their trainees very highly; consequently, the agency never cast any of the people who auditioned on 'K-Pop Star.' However, this became controversial as people wondered, "Why don't they cast anyone?" and "Do they not feel any responsibility?"
Heechul said, "There was so much controversy that they decided to just not participate this time."
I am with Olympic. I mean the song is cute but it's nothing we haven't heard before.
I feel calling it terrible is a bit of an exaggeration but eh. I suspect the album will have better as most albums do.

Whatever validates your agenda sis
In what way are 15& successful?
And you know exactly what he meant. SM's speciality is specifically idol dance groups. Akdong wouldn't have fit in there in the slightest.
You don't have to try and turn everything into an argument, y'know. It's getting a little weird. Are we not capable of just discussing things anymore without being so unnecessarily hostile?

!!!!
I mean we were just discussing it normally everything was okay... but if some of us don't like it we're automatically "pressed'

You also have to remember 2NE1 was never making him money like PSY or BIGBANG or GD solo was. They also were on a pretty long world tour but when they did come out, CRUSH is a solid album. By rush releasing albums like SM and JYP you get one or two great song and the rest is filler. Akdong Musician will make money on their name alone so if this album is a success expect more albums sooner rather than later and they also probably have a clause in their contract to have certain about of albums before contract is up. Same thing with Lee Hi. She was a monster rookie and one of YG's favorites but she is nowhere to be seen except in random tv excerpts. YG has a plan now.
EDIT: I doubt they will be recording soon as they will also be a part of the YG family concert tour. So i'm sure they won't be too upset.

I'm not saying he should rush-release 2NE1, but you can easily make a decent album in less than a year, so the delay was unnecessary and unjust from what we've heard.
But how were 2NE1 not making him money? They had great physical sales, not to mention they were literally everywhere, ruling the charts like no one else existed.
