I do agree she has to do some promo WW though, especially since we've seen her album/single sales can rise exponentially with only a simple announcement or if something airs in that country.

Well, she visited every major show in the US during the BTW era, so it's not like she paid them dust anyway.
However, I'd prefer her to lose the US rather than lose the rest of the markets seeing as ARTPOP's WW numbers with 0 promo is double the US numbers with a great amount of promo.

Not really sure about that. I mean yes promo is important but then you also have that -at least here in Spain- they play whatever is smashing in the US. Yes, international artists work like that here, we don't have our own personality and I hate it. For example that song Happy. Now you can hear it on every radio station, TV commercial, TV show, whatever just because it's smashing hard in the US and it doesn't sound like songs people usually like here, at all

Well, that's the problem. For some countries, mashing in the US = smashing in their country, flopping in the US = flopping in their country.
The US doesn't want her material anymore (Applause is an exception) which is affecting her brand WW. Performing once on a big show in countries like Spain for example will easily make the song a smash and give the album more life.
