I'm going to sleep, but I'm so glad we agreed that Rihanna remains the superior one.
Yes! Everyone has come to terms with that. There was some confusion about whether DC sales count but they don't because for all we know most of the people were buying the records for Kelly and Michelle.
Nope. Numbers and stats say otherwise. "Thriller" may be his most memorable and some may can argue that. You can't argue facts aka numbers and stats.
Either way, Thriller as a whole was huge. None of Rihanna's albums will be seeing it EVER. She's a singles act through and through.
Rihanna is the biggest album seller out of all the pop girls. Her consistency and longevity is unmatched. All that with no gimmicks and eras that last less than 9 months.
She just won't burn out.
Same. If true, thank means we won't see or hear her music for another year at least and she'll fall off the face of existence. I mean, not having her annual album already hurt her in popularity.
Most people in my high school knew beat it as his biggest, tho my school was full of latinos going through that grunge/metal phase including myself
Thriller was and IS his most recognized song. It's even played every Halloween. Besides, if you ask any white to name 3 songs from MJ, they'll say Thriller as one of them. Then Billie Jean, then maybe Man in the Mirror.
Why are y'all pretending to be "SHOCKED!!!" that someone doesn't know a Bryan Adams song? Most of y'all are also ignorant to a lot of big music hits from the past and I have proof. Bryan Adams is no one's legend and is a footnote from the late '80s and '90s. Not everyone will know who he is or the songs he sang.
Dd. if you have never heard I do it for you, you have been living under a rock sorry. Bryan is deemed a rock legend you bet!

!!! Like Sorry I'm not a white. We didn't listen to Bryan Adams at my functions growing up.
Dd. next you'll be telling me The Who aren't legends, and My Generation isn't a classic because you can't name the album and don't listen to it at function and because your black
Rihanna is superior to most, like Gaga. But inferior to Katy and Beyonce. Fact.
I know its not far fetched to say that Rihanna is inferior to beyongay (in the Hive's mind)
But to say Katy is better than just proves your opinion is wrong (nothing new tho)

Rihanna wins.
But Billboard does count them and Billboard >>> your opinion.
So yes, she's sold more in the US alone than the failure in your avi has sold worldwide and is still beating her at album sales and touring.
I think Beyonce will have a huge legacy. At this point, it will be much bigger than Rihanna's, partly because of talent/admiration and partly because of the focus she has on her brand and image. Rihanna has never cared about crafting an image or being consistent. She constantly changes and doesn't seem to strive for the "popstar" image most of her peers buy into. Beyonce is the sexy, driven, classy woman. Katy is the sugary-sweet songwriter. Gaga is the eccentric girl who dresses weirdly. What is Rihanna? Idk. She's taken a much different approach to her career and is somehow still relevant. It is very difficult to pin her down.
Regardless, my fave is my fave. I don't hate Beyonce so I have no problem complimenting her. I think she'll be very remembered despite the lack of hits. I think she's a cultural force that no one is anywhere close to overtaking. Going from star of a beloved girl group to being known as a sex symbol to becoming a wife/mom without any real damage to her reputation must of taken a lot of work. My fave ain't doing it.
Oh, and all of this comes from an urban and US perspective. I have no idea what it's like in other places but Beyonce is pretty much revered here. She doesn't really have casual fans, just people that adore her/think she's hot and then others who think she's overrated. I've rarely met someone who falls in the middle. They may not be super attached to her music, but they love HER and buy her albums regardless.
I didn't know "Summer of 69" was a Bryan Adams song It's one of those songs you always hear on the radio.
The cheap grainy video has more views than any Madonna classic!
So he had a success for a long time. I guess he could be the Rihanna to Beyonce's Springsteen...way more global hits, but Springsteen is the more important and remembered artist.
