A girl whose friend's sister's friend's father is a policeman spread the rumour that she actually tried to commit suicide because she's bullied by SNSD members
Then that rumour is extended to: "Her bf cheated on her with Taeyeon, she found out and made a feud with him and tried to commit suicide"

|
Yes, but a misunderstanding doesn't became a police report sis... At least not where I'm from? It was filed by a 35 year old man, aka her boyfriend. There no sisters fathers friends catwalker stuff happening. Hyoyeon isn't getting bullied.

The friend's sister's father's policeman rumour started from a FAN CAFE. It is fake and was started by a troll.
The actual news [not a rumour] of what happened and what SM clarified was reported by several reliable journalists. The suicide attempt stems from the part of the first article that was reported, where it said she wanted to jump from the second floor. The bullying rumour only started after the news broke and like I said, through a fan cafe account.
There's the actual facts and then people muddying the water for whatever reason.

Hyoyeon, ha Bangerz era is imminent
(In all seriousness, I hope this is complete BS and her bf was wrongly being a dick by reporting her while they were in a fight. I really hope she is OK. Hyo is queen )

This smells of a smear campaign to me. How in the hell did this escalate so quickly into bullying and suicide rumors with virtually no evidence?
To me it looks like Hyoyeon had a drunk incident with her boyfriend and the police were called. I think the suicide etc. is way out of proportion it doesn't even make sense, and why drag Taeyeon into it? It's fishy and looking like some netizens just want to damage SNSD reputation by making these scandals worse.
I mean they already did it to f(x) but SNSD is a lot harder to damage. Hyoyeon she needs to be more careful.

I'm still loathing a bit at SM for dropping Hyoyeon's name so rapidly and easily. The original article made sure not to name names but SM straight away go and say it was Hyoyeon in their statement?
****, they need to get their company sorted out. There are some dark things happening in that place towards certain members and I'm not here for this discriminatory ********.

What things?
I'm glad SM is remembering Jessica and Krystal though. Their new reality show "Cover Girl" is confirmed and with their English duet on that OST, I hope the sub-unit rumors come true.
f(x) is a sinking ship tbh so I'm glad Krystal has things to do outside the group, her lifeboat is coming.

It's not a smear campaign.
Ugh... How to explain for the third time???
It was reported by respected sites first. SM co-signed that this is what happened. Hyo and her "friend" aka boyfriend got into a fight. He filed a report.
People read into the "wanting to play by jumping out of a window" part and said Hyo must be suicidal. To be fair, that's a weird thing to want to do/say, so I can't really blame people for reading too much into that. But whatever.
THEN came all the typical forum comments, news article comments, fan cafe posts from anti's and whatever, trying to muddy the situation even more. So it's not a smear campaign. It would be like a report of Lindsay Lohan getting arrested, then commented about on here. Our comments would be our own and not a part of some takedown of Lindsay Lohan. People are only reading into what they've gotten. Yes, some of it (Taeyeon, policeman bully) are weird, but it's the usual trash that happens when stories are reported.
I love Hyo, but it doesn't add up. Nobody files a police report for a misunderstanding. So he is either fame hungry, but has been with her for months now and happily kept things quiet. He is either a douche, which I hope it is, or he was genuinely worried about her, which sadly makes the most sense to me.
Like who wants to go off a second floor, even when drunk? That's not an excuse and that worries me. All I can do is hope this was wrongly reported, but I read a comment saying it was a respected journalist and the article was edited to include other things, so if it wasn't true, he could have edited it out

SM and "dark things" have always seemed to come hand in hand. This is nothing new.

They only had the second best selling female album last year, so yeah sinking ship indeed. I forget that things like selling nearly a million copies of RPPP in 2013 and consistent album sales don't matter.

I know, but like all bad things it builds up and builds up until it's more than just "another bad thing they've done".
But ff ignore me, I'm on the defensive about Hyoyeon because there's barely any information up while everyone's speculating and making up stories about what happened. I mean, given that there's a possibility it never even happened I don't like how quick everyone is to justify it.

Not really though, seeing as said this today.

SM Entertainment said on April 2, "We plan on firmly handling this situation by beginning the procedure and examination for legal action against people publishing or writing baseless rumors about Hyoyeon. Once again, we request that the people erase the relevant posts via comment sections, personal SNS accounts, blogs, and more."
|
That's pretty strong defense. See SM were in a no win situation here. They could have kept their mouths shut and people would be screaming at them to say something, they could then say the truth and people would be saying Hyo is a scapegoat for some other scandal. People are never satisfied...

But it is though?
I mean if it wasn't Hyoyeon's fault and she was just drunk then her "(boy)friend" of hers has got her looking crazy in the media. People will be talking about idols regardless, but it's the way that this scandal got into the media then suddenly turned into some bully/suicide incident that is weird.
Why would people drag Taeyeon into it if they didn't want SNSD to look bad. It goes a bit beyond the usual netizen comments into something more calculated. They know Hyoyeon's scandal on its own wouldn't be enough to cause any real damage because she is not that popular, so they try to get Taeyeon mixed up in it as well. It goes beyond bad reporting into something serious which is why SM ran and called their lawyers.
I agree it looks so weird that the police were involved if they were just "playing around" like SM says. So either her boyfriend made money from this or SM is trying to do a quick cover up. Hyoyeon's drunk behavior is no secret, but obviously SM is trying to control what is being revealed.

Basically. Flop members from lessor groups on less successful companies have endured worse scandals than this and made it out with careers relatively unscathed.

I'm not coming for their sales though, and I'm not dragging them because I like them. But SM doesn't see it your way.
Compared to other groups they get barely any attention. I mean they've been active for 5 years now and only released 2 albums and 2 minis. No Japan debut, no US debut (even with 2 fluent English speakers), no China debut (even when Victoria and Amber speak Chinese), it's not hard to see that SM just don't care, especially when the group has so much potential.
Their sales are good considering all this, but it just makes it worse because they have a fanbase but SM isn't capitalizing on it.

Girl, I can't. I don't want to be rude and ignore you, but I can't talk about this mess anymore. Cheers is right, they'll get over this. Scandals in Korea are a dime a dozen. Something else will replace this soon. it's always the same.
