Not well deserved. Mulan and Lion King should be up there tbh.

Absolutely insane. I'd agree that TS3 is superior, but still so happy for 'Frozen!'

"Frozen" is successful because it's a basic fairytale premise, but is kind of anti-Disney in terms of plot and characters.
Most classic Disney movies establish the good side/bad side early on. Frozen's main enemy is Elsa herself, although there are other minor evil characters, the main villain is Elsa dealing with her curse.
The characters also have no authority, they are the authority. Something that other Disney movies don't have.
And in all honesty, the songs and characters are extremely well thought out, loveable and most importantly are incredibly independent and unique, with the songs matching the personality.
Also, Elsa as queen doesn't fit in with the good queen/evil queen most Disney movies have, and Anna is the classic princess but she doesn't have any authority over her, which means she's on a level with the Queen, not a daughter which is usually where those traditional movies start.
The movie breaks the mold most movies like it have, which comes as a breath of fresh air if you will.
I can see where the success comes from, even if I don't think it deserves it. It ticks all the boxes for success, without being terribly brilliant.

Exactly.
The main premise of this movie is that being different is okay, and you shouldn't have to live in fear.

Both should have been hits in their eras. Frozen has no place considering the story has been done 100 times before in all forms of media. The Lion King and Mulan were way more original and had unique songs and better character development.
