Ayo Ester, never been a guesser
But I bet my bottom dollar,
Bitches under pressure
Moved out to LA, now it's like I sell yay
Money so offensive, ****** call me Elway
If I needed money, I would be up in the bank
The crib got exotic fishes in the tank
The 24 gold karat, dishes in the sank
Them bum bitches just be taking pictures when they plank
You wanna gimme money, gimme money, gimme money uhh
I'm up in Hong Kong rocking Shojono Tomo
Lobster, sushi rolls with a side of soy sauce
Chopsticks, you know we don't give a fork

Bit of a tangent that I'm probably gonna catch flack for, but...
I actually really want Nic to make music like this. It's hip hop done perfectly; it's catchy and not abrasive, but witty and makes a point. It also blends influences from different genres together, which I've always thought is such a genius approach to music. For example, Missy Elliott was an expert at merging elements of different genres and time periods together and it always sounded great.
There's a way to brag and be cocky while still being relatable and approachable. I don't need an album full of Did It On'ems and Lookin Asses. Sometimes it feels like there's an element of fluidity missing from her music and that's what I think The Man does so well.
I think i understand where you are coming from with this. I agree that there are ways to come off cocky without being abrasive. With that being said, I really dont see what is so witty about this besides the imagery in the video. Yes the lyrics are subtly braggadocio but Nicki most def has the ability to to be fluid/relatable with her boastfulness. Pink Friday as a whole? GOF verse? Long Time Cumin? Still I Rise?
Has anyone ever seen Nicki live BEFORE her first album?
I saw her back in 2009 at the Ruhl Armory here in Towson, Maryland. It was PACKED but everyone, guys and girls, were pretty much stanning. It was a few days after my high school graduation.
