Yeah but every country in the world has a nationalist right-wing streak and it'll never go away. It's nowhere near as bad as having something like the Republican party in the US or the National Front in France- or heck even Golden Dawn in Greece (who got 6% of votes in the last Greek election and whose logo is a Swastika)- we'll never have a xenophobic party in power. The UKIP might challenge in the Euro elections but as long as we have the constituency system then they'll never win anywhere near enough seats in Parliament (see- every Liberal Democrat attempt ever).

The UK is far more developed than 99.9% of the world in regards to immigration- probably only Germany and the Scandanavian countries are more liberal. And even then, there's been slip-ups along the way ((Swedish foreign minister....I don't even know what she's doing here).
