It's a point I highlighted in my help request yesterday (once again, thank you to the mods who took the time to read it and to Ace Reject for responding) that there's a disparity between what people expect of punishment around here and what is given out, as evidenced by all the complaints in HQ day after day.
Sometimes members often feel as they are victimised by the infringement system, and there is an air of concern around mods who may be trigger happy with the warn button. I half-considered the notion that the mask of ATRL-O-Matic is removed and we actually see which mods give you the WPs. It was the system they had on another forum I frequented and I think it encouraged trust more than anything.

What many don't realize is that almost a hundred warnings are given per day. only a fraction actually comes here to appeal the warning. And many of those only come here to try to have a warning reversed even though they know what they did wrong.
Of course there's always room for improvement, and we make mistakes sometimes. But you guys only see the warnings people complain about here, not the vast majority of warnings people accept.
