Thankfully she's taken a long break so that should just make most people happy that she's back. If she kept going after 21 and continued to allow herself to get overexposed, there definitely would have been backlash.
I know as stans, it sucks that she keeps us out of the loop and stays so quiet about everything but if she said anything, it would just get reported everywhere and then the album will become overhyped and over-talked about months before it's out and then that'll just make people already sick of hearing about it like they have been with Gaga, etc. Plus she probably wants no pressure put on her by the media while she's making it, like how she should sound, how much she should sell, etc.
It's one thing when it's just us talking about it on here, etc but it's another when it's always being reported and talked about in the press.
But the best way to silence any doubters is just to come back with another killer album. When the material is good, there's not much people can say to knock you down.

I'm sure she will come back strong though. We don't have many artists in the pop field that is as respected as she is
