Flashing ****s, I was not even talking about rap songs in general, but the kind that are popular today. Kanye is an exception but none of Jay-Z's singles from American Gangster were successful, nor was "Lost One", at least not to my memory. If the new Nas single ("Hero") is any good, I'm sure it would take a miracle for it to chart high on iTunes or the Hot 100.

Yep the great hip hop singles usually don't do well. For example at this moment two great songs "No Matter What" and "Game's Pain" downloads are low (even though Game's Pain is steadily climbing up the charts now due to radio play). Both Busta singles are great "Don't Touch Me" and "We Made It" and obviously they're failing because their great. So yeah great hip hop singles don't do well on the charts unless they're club bangers with the exception of Kanye West, Eminem and even Jay-Z. But we'll see how Nas's "Hero" does though
