Beyonce has too much consistent success to be an IT girl...it girls usually fall hard. GaGa is proof. She's went from being in trinity talk to having an era worse than any of the major pop girls most recent era. All in 5 years.
Beyonce is at the top of her game 11 years into her solo career and 16 into her overall career. Something even Britney cant say. And if Beyonce somehow wasnt the it girl of 2003 then who the hell was??

Everybody was talking about her when her first 2 debut singles spent a total of 17 weeks at #1.
Everybody was talking about her when Single Ladies & IIWAB were top 3 at the same time.
Everybody was talking about her the week of the superbowl and innaguration.

She was everything to everybody in 2003-2004, she came hard as hell with DIL so yes. And furthermore she's been consistently successful, respected and kept up every aspect of her craft (the music and performing) so I don't know why a certain army is trying it.
shes always kind of had consistant success but shes never reached Britney or Gaga peaks. Heck, even mileys peaked higher

On topic Beyonce was big in 2003 but she wasn't the it global girl, I remember Xtina and Britney were still more talked about than her, even Avril Lavigne was more trendy WW her album sold 16 million while Beyonce 9 million, and we all now that 70% of her sales came from the US as always.
