And I don't want Iggy representing female rappers anyways. Of all the "underground" women, she is by far one of the least deserving of breakout success.
Oh, please. If those other girls deserved Iggy's success, they'd have it by now. But they don't.
No one has worked harder to get where they are than Iggy.
I really don't care about Iggy or any other basic rap girl at this point.
I haven't been impressed by anything these girls have done since 212 & some older Angel bops.
They ALL lack something that the previous rap girls before were able to obtain.

I don't think Iggy does. Where she lacks in the lyricism, she makes up in the personality.
Female rappers have historically always coexisted. The most obvious example would be the late 90s/early 2000s when Lauryn, Kim, Foxy, Eve and Missy all became mainstream forces, while Queen Latifah had staying power and smaller acts like Da Brat and Trina were still nothing to scoff at.
And I find it ironic that barbz pretend to care about female rap without knowing anything about women in hip hop. I'll believe that you guys are interested in female rappers when you start actually listening to them.
Pff.
Relax Solaris..MMMinaj probably just meant in the present day, Nicki era. It is well known that Nicki has been the only female rapper who has maintained such a mainstream level of success for the past 5 or so years. We need someone to coexist with her now.
I don't really like Iggy's rapping. I really want to, but I find her way of rapping annoying. She creates these weird noises when she raps, and the tone in her voice is just not for me. I really do want to like her though.
She sounds like a guy when she raps, at least imo. I don't care whether she does well or not because she won't get the global success Nicki has unless she does pop music
