I still don't get what she was trying to prove with "Same Girl." It was like she was trying to prove that she's still "hood" after doing a slew of disposable dance-pop songs featuring Pitbull, as if anyone really cared. The people who supported that Jenny stopped supporting her a long time ago. I'd argue she was a part of the Beyonceitis slaughter. I can understand Nicki releasing a song to prove her credibility, but J. Lo? No one takes her music seriously. Just look at her Metacritic page. 52s down the line.
Like, didn't she already do that with Jenny From the Block? If the artistry isn't there, the well will dry up much faster. I see the same happening to Selena Gomez later down the line.
Yes bs they were seasonal gimmicks*at the time ( and that's what Pitbull and Flo will become soon.) Like where is Ja Rule ? , Where is LL Cool j?...Oh wait. Both those flops where noting but accessories to j.Lo success.
I feel like with the internet now most any English-language hit that smashes in the rest of the world has a decent chance of breaking through in the US.
Not really though. Ai Se Eu Te Pego, Danza Kuduro, Papaoutai, La La La, Love Me Again were paid dust
J. lo's music career was always a side thing to her movie career. It's only after her movie star status dwindled that music became a primary focus. She toured for the first time in 2012. J. Lo is a great performer too. That's her true talent. It's a shame she didn't capitalize on that from the start.
